Building Maintenance Officer (day) Full-time | Day Shift

Responsibilities

  • The maintenance man will be responsible for diagnosing electrical, electronic and instrumentation failures and determining the actions to be taken to correct;
  • Inspect, install, repair, fabricate, modify, calibrate, adjust and maintain all types of electronic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic instrumentation equipment;
  • Install, repair, fabricate, modify, adjust and maintain building;
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints and specifications;
  • Run cable in conduits and through walls and floors;
  • Installs supports and brackets on which electrical equipment is mounted;
  • Installs and modifies lighting of all types (fluorescent, incandescent) and changes bulbs and neon lights as required;
  • Routes and installs the necessary wiring for all installation requests;
  • Maintains, modifies and executes troubleshooting requests on equipment;
  • Maintains, modifies and executes building maintenance requests;
  • Prepares various sketches or diagrams to estimate material requirements and to plan the work to be done when installing electrical equipment;
  • Must be available for service calls outside of his/her shift;
  • Performs all other related duties as requested by his/her supervisor.

Work Environment and Special Conditions:

  • Works standing, crouching and kneeling;
  • Works in confined spaces;
  • Works on slippery surfaces;
  • Works in high noise areas;
  • Works at heights (3 meters and more).

Equipment, instruments and tools :

  • Tools for electrical work;
  • General maintenance tools;
  • Computer and printer.

Qualifications:

  •  Asset – DEC or AEC in electrical, electro dynamic, electro mechanical, electronics, programmable logic controllers, instrumentation;
  • Asset – Bachelor’s degree – non-construction or construction;
  • 5 years experience in industry;
  • Respect of health and safety principles and corporate procedures.
