Overview of the Position
An industry manufacturing leader in consumer goods, ERA Group currently requires a Tool Room Manager for its facility in Ville Saint-Laurent, Quebec.
Reporting directly to the President of the company, this hands-on position is responsible for the supervision of its mold makers, general machinists and support staff for mold design, maintenance, modifications, and repair. The Toolroom Manager is also responsible for implementing and managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs and assisting plant operations with technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for scheduling and assigning of daily duties of all employees in the department and review completed work for conformance to standards.
- Experience in manufacturing/production environment.
- Trouble shooting of molds, dies & automation an asset.
- Very involved on the floor, hands on management style a must.
- Responsible to identify all necessary supplies.
- Responsible for maintaining safe working conditions and practices to ensure the safety of the employees.
- Assess issues and recommend solutions.
Requirements/Skills Required
- Certified Mold Maker, Engineer, or substantial experience with plastic injection molds.
- 5+ years of Tool Room management experience.
- Experience with 3D software. (CAD/CAM:
- Extensive knowledge in mold design & plastic part design.
- CNC programming of milling, lathe and EDM machinery. (Program tool paths)
- Experience in predictive maintenance measures.
- Strong multi-tasking skills.
- Strong organization skills.
- Proven leadership and coaching abilities.
- Autonomous and motivated.

- Salary : 80 000$ to 100 000$ per year
